About the studio
Animation that moves India forward
We're a production studio, not a freelancer collective: thirty-plus artists, animators and producers in Kolkata who treat a delivery date as a promise.
Merit Animation Studio was built on a simple observation: Indian brands were buying world-class animation from studios that treated deadlines as aspirations and budgets as opening bids. We thought a studio could be both cinematic and reliable.
So we built one around process. Every film we make — a ninety-second explainer or a forty-lesson series — moves through the same five milestone gates: brief, animatic, style frames, animation, delivery. Each gate is a sign-off. Nothing expensive starts until the cheap version is approved. That discipline is what lets us write delivery dates into contracts, and it is why 98% of our projects have shipped on the day we said they would.
We work in 2D, 3D and VFX under one roof, which means a film that needs all three doesn't fall into the gaps between vendors. And because roughly half of India watches in Hindi, we produce bilingual by default: two scripts, two voice tracks, dialogue animated per language, so neither version ever feels like the translation.
Our clients range from Pune real-estate developers to Bangalore fintechs to Chennai EdTech companies. What they have in common is a marketing calendar with a date on it — and a preference for working with people who take that date as seriously as they do.
