Launch Film — Hero Product Reveal

A new hero product, a launch date fixed by the retail calendar, and no photography budget for the dozen formats the campaign needed. So we built the product in 3D and shot it from every angle at once.

The challenge

The brand was launching a new hero SKU with a campaign that spanned marketplace listings, its own store, paid social and in-store screens. Each channel needed different angles, crops and durations. A traditional shoot would have meant multiple days of photography and video, with the risk that a late packaging tweak would make everything obsolete. And the packaging did change — twice — during the six weeks.

Our approach

We modelled the product from the dielines and a single physical sample, matching the bottle's glass thickness, the pump mechanism and the label print finish. Because the label was a texture rather than a printed object, both late artwork revisions were a ten-minute swap, not a reshoot.

The hero film was built around one idea: the product breaking apart into its ingredients and re-forming. That sequence used rigid-body and fluid simulation — the "exploded view" — and became the campaign's signature shot. Everything else was lit in a single studio setup and rendered in every crop the media plan called for.

  • Modelling & texturing — photoreal bottle, pump and label from dielines; liquid and ingredient assets.
  • VFX — ingredient explosion and re-form; liquid pour and droplet simulations.
  • Lighting & comp — a studio product look with a dark, premium variant for the film.
  • 3D animation — camera choreography, spins and bumper edits.

The outcome

One 3D scene produced the entire launch asset set: the hero film for social and in-store, twenty-four spins and stills for the product page and marketplaces, and nine bumper ads. When the second SKU in the range launched, the same scene was re-dressed and delivered in under two weeks.
