The challenge
Volume was the whole problem. Forty lessons across physics, chemistry and biology, each four to seven minutes long, aligned to a state syllabus, reviewed by subject-matter experts, and delivered in both Hindi and English — inside a twelve-week window that ended at the start of the academic term. A conventional one-film-at-a-time pipeline would have delivered about a third of that.
Our approach
We designed the pipeline before we designed a single frame. The series was built around three reusable systems:
- A 3D laboratory. One fully modelled lab environment and a library of sixty-plus apparatus assets — beakers, circuits, cells, prisms, pulleys — lit once and rendered on demand. Any lesson could be "shot" in the lab by placing assets and pointing a camera.
- A 2D presenter. A rigged, friendly presenter character who explains, gestures and reacts. Rigged once, animated per lesson with AI-assisted in-betweening so the animators' time went into acting rather than tweening.
- A template grammar. Standard shot types — presenter intro, lab demonstration, diagram breakdown, recap card — so scripts were written to a structure the pipeline could produce fast without every lesson looking identical.
Scripts moved through SME review in batches of five, animatics were cut to both language tracks, and lessons were animated and rendered in weekly sprints. A dedicated project manager ran the review calendar so LearnRight's academic team always knew exactly what needed sign-off that week.
The outcome
All forty lessons were delivered on the contracted date, in both languages, with the asset library and presenter rig handed over for LearnRight's in-house team to extend. The second season — sixty lessons — is currently in production on the same pipeline.
